The Executive Assistant and Branch Coordinator manages the office of the Executive Director, Aboriginal Economic Development on a day-to-day basis. Accountable for planning and implementing priorities and deliverables across the branch, the position requires you to have experience (and/or strong aptitude) in the provision of high-level support to senior executives and well-developed organisational, communication, finance and planning skills.  

The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate -

  • ability to effectively manage and support departmental executive functions, including branch finance and budgeting, demonstrating multi tasking, utilisation of modern business processes and collaborative skills;
  • well developed organisational and planning skills;
  • well-developed interpersonal skills;
  • well developed written skills, using contemporary software applications in preparing written and verbal communications;
  • understanding and practical knowledge of government policies, processes and business systems and government accountability requirements.

The position of Executive Assistant and Branch Coordinator is part of the Aboriginal Economic Development (AED) Branch within the Inclusion Group. The Inclusion Group champions the fair distribution of benefits that stem from a strong economy. The AED Branch leads work across the Department to support Aboriginal Self-Determination through employment and economic development.  To this end, it is tasked with the implementation of the current Victorian Aboriginal Economic Strategy and the development of a second iteration of the Strategy.
