About the Opportunity

The Executive Director, Commercial Transactions is a key position within the Investment and Technology leadership team, responsible for creating a high-performing division delivering value and providing proactive planning and advisory services across the department. Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Investment and Technology, the Executive Director is accountable for leading a professional workforce to provide commercial advisory, project deal strategy, delivery and transition support for all transport services contracts.

About the Team

The Commercial Transactions Division provides strategic commercial and financial advice across the department and leads major commercial transactions that deliver innovation and value for money outcomes.

About You

As an experienced executive possessing extensive leadership and management experience, you will be confident in providing nuanced economic, financial, supply chain and industry insights to drive economic outcomes and commercial strategies. Relationship-based, your proven and trusted ability to partner with and build strong connections with your peers and senior stakeholders, will enable you to play a key role to advance the department's commercial pipeline of projects across the network.

You will relish the opportunity to provide authoritative advice, drive key initiatives and policies, monitor capital investment strategy and governance, develop team capability, and establish the division with a high level of credibility. Ideally, you possess:

  • Works to identify & manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and (global) supply chain risk
