Executive Director, Policy, Talent and Migration

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) is seeking to appoint an Executive Director, Policy, Talent and Migration to lead the strategic approach to the development and implementation of the Victorian Government's priority talent initiatives, skilled migration program and policy and regulatory advice.

You will provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on delivering policies, strategies, programs and services. This includes delivering the Digital Jobs program that provides mid-career Victorians with the upskilling necessary so they can transition into digital careers, overseeing Victoria's skilled, business and investor migrants' programs and the attraction and retention of talent to support the Victorian Government's economic and industry development agenda. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing industry policy and regulatory reform that aims to enable a competitive and fair operating environment for Victorian businesses.

Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of government priorities and objectives in the context of talent initiatives, migration programs and regulatory reform, with a sound understanding of government program management, program operations and procurement processes, governance, risk, probity, confidentiality requirements and continuous improvement.

Having oversight of policy and regulatory advice, you will help to create a better Victoria and stronger environment for business to grow, invest and create jobs.
