We are currently seeking experienced and motivated lawyers to join the Family Law Melbourne team.

  • 1 x full time ongoing position and 1 x full time maximum term position up to 12 months (part time considered)
  • Salary commensurate with experience, range: $72,547 - $93,169 (pro rata) plus superannuation

About the role
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated lawyers to join the Family Law Melbourne team. The aim of the Family Law Melbourne subprogram is to achieve safe, workable and child-focused parenting and care arrangements. We provide information, advice and representation to separating or separated couples who are in dispute about their children's living and care arrangements.

You will act as an advocate delivering high quality legal services including legal information and advice, conducting casework and duty lawyer services in relation to family law, family violence, pre-court advice and other related matters. You will also engage in community legal education projects, law reform and other projects as required.

A key focus of the maximum term role will be on the early resolution of cases and providing pre-court advice.

The opportunities available include an ongoing role and a 12 month maximum term position.

About you:
You will have knowledge and practical experience in providing quality legal services with a focus on the family law jurisdiction. You will have the capacity to work as an advocate and caseworker in family law, family violence and other related matters. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of external organisations, private practitioners, community and welfare groups in the delivery of legal aid services.

Crucial to your success in this role you will be your excellent interpersonal and communication skills and your demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
