About us:

The Coroners Court is responsible for:

  • Independently investigating deaths and fires. Certain deaths and fires are reported to the Coroners for independent investigation. Their investigations seek to establish the facts – when, where, how and why the death or fire happened.

About the role:

The Coroners Prevention Unit (CPU) provides support to Coroners to fulfil their prevention mandate to improve public health and safety.

Within the CPU, the Family Violence team conducts in-depth reviews of what are often complex family violence-related deaths and formulate evidence-based and feasible recommendations that contribute to strengthening the system response to family violence across the state and to prevent future deaths.

The Family Violence Case Investigator is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Conducting in-depth review of a range of materials to identify the need for, and nature of, further investigation by the Coroner.
  • Drafting reports and providing advice in relation to suspected family violence related deaths that are referred to the Family Violence team.
  • Preparing case summaries and compiling records to inform further investigation by relevant experts.

About you:

We are looking for a dynamic team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to public health and safety with:
