FAMILY VIOLENCE CLINICIAN - Mental Health Program

• Permanent Full Time (Part-time would be considered)


• Social Work/Occupational Therapy/Psychology - Grade 2 or 3 dependant on experience


• Work within a small specialist Family Violence team within the mental health program to support clinical teams to identify and repsond to family violence.

About the role

The Eastern Health Mental Health Program provides specialist inpatient, community and residential mental health services to people of all ages in the eastern region of Melbourne. 

The Family Violence Clinician will be part of a small specialist team, providing expertise to mental health teams across the program.  They will support clinicians to identify and respond to family violence by providing secondary consultation to support victim survivors, children and the person using violence.  The position will support the Specialist Family Violence Advisors to embed MARAM and information sharing into core mental health practice and to provide training to align with the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Capability Framework.

The role will be supported and integrated into the Mental Health Program – Specialist Family Violence Advisor (SFVA) team to further enhance a comprehensive model of care that embraces the intersectionality of mental ill health and family violence across the life span. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• A clinical qualification as a Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist


• Experience working clinically in the family violence setting


• Clinical Mental Health Experience desirable (not essential)


• Knowldedge of the MARAM framework


• Demonstrated understanding of capacity building and providing secondary consultation


• The ability to work as part of a diverse team


• Excellent communication and organisational skills
