• The Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager will be responsible for accurate and timely recording, integrity and maintenance of VCAT’s financials in its general ledger and the associated month end timetable and processes.
  •Taking responsibility for VCAT’s operational Executive and Committee financial reporting and working closely with the Financial Performance and Analysis Manager and Senior Finance Manager to build commentary on budget variances and a thorough understanding of VCAT’s operating financial position.

About the role

• You will be responsible for accurate and timely recording, integrity and maintenance of VCAT's financials in its General Ledger
• Management of the month-end timetable and ensuring the associated tasks are completely on a timely basis
• You will work with the Procurement Officer and Finance Officer to ensure timely, streamlined workflows across the Procure-to-Pay process
• Lead the statutory and committee financial reporting process for the organisation to ensure that all requirements are met in accordance with Court Services Victoria (CSV) and VCAT timeframes. This includes the audited financial statements, monthly internal reporting and external reporting to CSV
• Support the Senior Finance Manager to develop and implement change management processes and programs across the organisation that promote financial capability as well as a financial culture of sustainability across the organisation
• Lead the development and enhancement of best practice financial systems, processes, programs, policies and procedures in the financial reporting and compliance team, in line with VCAT's service delivery objectives
• Lead the financial compliance activities of the Organisation
• Lead the development and enhancement of Financial Reporting and Compliance staff, through relevant performance management frameworks. Continue to develop and promote a culture within the team that appropriately model the organisational vision, mission, values and goals
• Identification of financial accounting issues and liaise with thecentral finance office at Court Services Victoria to understand andresolve them where required.

About you

• You demonstrate a strong financial accounting and compliancebackground with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• You will possess a professional Finance or related disciplinebackground and will be responsible for accurate and timelyrecording, integrity and maintenance of VCAT's financials in itsgeneral ledger and the associated month end timetable and processes
• You have excellent understanding of Australian AccountingStandards and legislative frameworks including the FinancialManagement Act 1994
• You have excellent understanding of general accounting controlsand compliance requirements
• You have demonstrated expertise in the preparation of annualfinancial statements and financial reporting and analysis
• You have demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite –Excel, PowerPoint with relevance to financial reporting andanalysis and delivering key presentations
