About the branch

The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service Delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's State-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Fire and Emergency Recovery Planning Coordinator, your primary focus is to assist with the planning and coordination of the delivery of the Parks Victoria component of Public Land Recovery Programs across Parks Victoria including developing and maintaining systems of work for recovery across all outputs. You will assist recovery events spanning multiple Regions or Districts. You will develop tools and templates to assist Regions with localised recovery programs, guidance and advisory tools and will develop recovery program information and training materials to build regional capability.

You will work across a diverse range of areas and will ensure safety of staff and community. Your role will restore access for the social and economic wellbeing of the community and conserve natural values. In addition, you will protect cultural values, both material and spiritual, of the Country and will also ensure efficient allocation and use of funding and resources.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is preferable.
  • Demonstrated experience of in the management of fire and flood recovery programs
  • Demonstrated high level judgement and analytical skills, supported by experience in problem solving and decision making.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
