The Monash Health Pathology Service is an integral part of Monash Health. It is one of the largest providers of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 4 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional facilities being located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin and Casey Hospitals.

Within Monash Pathology, Genomics and Molecular Pathology is an evolving concept with a planned integration of our Cytogenetic and Molecular genetic services. A close working partnership with Monash Health Translational Precinct (MHTP) to make this a unique centre of excellence in genetic diagnosis.

About the Role:

Monash Health Pathology is seeking an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented Genetic Pathologist for the Department of Diagnostic Genomics, which incorporates Cytogenetics, Genetics & Molecular Pathology Laboratory, and Thalassaemia & Haemophilia Reference Laboratory. This is a Full Time Position, fixed term contract for 5 years with a potential for ongoing appointment depending on available funding.

The position contributes in providing appropriate clinical supervision as per NPAAC guidelines, and effective functioning of the Department of Diagnostic Genomics with a potential to be involved in cutting edge technologies, service growth and research and development.

An adjunct academic appointment to Monash University will potentially be available depending on the experience and seniority of the successful candidate.

What You Need to Know:

The successful candidate will be a FRCPA with recognition in Genetic Pathology.

 Superannuation payments by Monash Health will only be made up to the maximum Superannuation Guarantee Contribution Limit.

The successful candidate may also be offered an academic appointment in the relevant school in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University should their qualifications and experience warrants such appointment.
