Occupational Therapist Grade 2

  • Fixed term full time in Medical Stream until March 2024
  • Provide excellent clinical assessment and therapy for patients in the acute hospital wards
  • Join our supportive and collaborative Occupational Therapy team
  • Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus

An opportunity exists for a grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team at Royal Melbourne Hospital within the acute general medicine stream. This team provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have a variety of medical conditions.  This role is full time and will provide clinical assessment, intervention and discharge planning. The role is supported by a grade 4 full time medical stream leader, OT research leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.

Your new role:

  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the sub-acute hospital wards.
  • Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership.
  • Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research.

About you:

  • You have hospital experience with a collaborative working style.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence based practice.
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
  • You have effective time management and prioritisation skills.
