Occupational Therapist Grade 2

  • Full time ongoing position

  • May be based across both the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus and Royal Park Campus

An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team at Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist provides quality care to clients through competent clinical skills, effective communication, and active participation within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 50 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties. The team is a cohesive group of professionals who support and encourage professional development and career growth. The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is aligned with the broader Allied Health service. The role is supported by OT senior clinicians, Grade 4 clinical leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.

Your new role:

  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients across acute, sub-acute and community areas.
  • Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership.
  • Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research.

About you:

  • You have hospital experience with a collaborative working style.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence based practice.
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
  • You have effective time management and prioritisation skills.
