What You Will Be Doing

Peninsula health currently has an opportunity for a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to work in the Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP). The Speech pathologist will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team - providing excellent assessment, management plans and discharge planning – with the emphasis on achieving optimal outcomes for the clients – all related to the client specific goals.

Key responsibilities include;
• Provide clinical care to Community clients, providing best practice speech pathology assessment, intervention, education and discharge planning for clients utilising a person centred care approach.
• To support to the CRP multidisciplinary team and the speech pathologists within the community sector
• Assist the senior speech pathologist in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of the speech pathology service and identify opportunities to develop or enhance service models to meet need and demand.
• Actively engage in the speech pathology clinical supervision program
• Contribute to the CRP and speech pathology innovation and active Quality Improvement program.
• Represent the speech pathology department on both internal and external committees and working groups as required

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
•Current Victorian Driver’s license
• Eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
• Ability to competently perform high quality speech pathology assessment, treatment and patient management, including thorough and appropriate discharge planning
• Demonstrate a high level of experience and competence in rehabilitation
• Demonstrated experience in the supervision of speech pathology staff and students
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability and experience working within a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous and innovative improvement through quality and research activities
