Mental Health Graduate Registered and Enrolled Nurses 2023 - Latrobe Regional Hopsital

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join Latrobe Regional Hospital on a fixed term part time basis commencing July 2023 - July 2024 (64 hours per fortnight).

Reporting to the Relevent team managers and mental health graduate coordinator, the successful candidate will participate in the graduate program to develop skills, knowledge and attributes to enable the provision of high quality, safe, trauma informed and evidence based clinical mental health services and ensuring the achievement of quality patient outcomes at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Support will be provided by the Education and Training Unit.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a Registered or Enrolled Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Undertake assessments in a timely manner, with risk assessment and individual care plan formulated
  • Participate in regular reviews that occur, in collaboration with the client, carers, significant others and multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to discharge planning which is undertaken in collaboration with the client, carers, significant others and multidisciplinary team

The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill. The regional mental health workforce incentive grants will support the attraction, recruitment, and retention of new workers to Latrobe Regional Hospitals mental health services in regional Victoria. This role has been identified as being eligible for an incentive payment of up to $20,000 subject to eligibility and negotiation with successful candidates. This incentive may be used to reimburse rent, childcare, school fees, relocation costs and more!

IMPORTANT:  All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 (3 doses), unless a valid medical exemption applies. Evidence of Vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement. Applicants for public facing positions will also be required to provide evidence of a current influenza vaccination (or exemption) prior to commencement”
