HANs are valued members of the healthcare team and work under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager and/or Registered Nurses to provide Safe, Timely, Effective and Person-centered care to our patients and their families.

HANs work within clearly defined parameters, the role itself is often flexible and involves a mixture of direct care and other activities that support the nursing team.

Your new role:

  • Participate in delegated care relating to patients’ activities of daily living, ensuring that the personal needs, dignity, and comfort of patients are maintained
  • Provide constant observation to patients at risk of harm to self/others 
  • Collaborate with the multi­disciplinary health care team to achieve the desired patient outcomes

5SE – General Medical

5 South East (5SE) is a 30-bed ward specialising in a broad range of General Medical & Metabolic conditions. We are committed to the delivery of high-quality patient centred care in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Ward 5 South East admits patients with a range of medical conditions, including congestive cardiac failure, sepsis, pneumonia, metabolic disorders, eating disorders and acute exacerbations of chronic illnesses.


5SW – General Medical and Respiratory Care Unit

Part Time/ Full Time contracts available

Rotating roster – Monday – Friday AM / PM / ND

5 South West is a 30-bed Acute Medical & Respiratory ward which includes a High-Dependency Unit for Respiratory Care.

5 South West provides robust clinical support for new-starters, and a range of educational opportunities for staff of all levels of experience. We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive when working in a team and enjoy caring for acute patient cohorts. We work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and value nursing input into care provision and planning. Critical thinking and advocacy are strongly encouraged in every member of our team!


Rehab – Rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM)

Part Time/ Full Time contracts available

Monday – Sunday AM shifts only – 7.00am-3.30pm

The Rehab/GEM ward is split into a 20-bed Rehab and 20-bed GEM unit dedicated to striving for the best patient outcomes throughout the patient’s rehabilitation journey.

There are 2 streams of care on the Rehab Ward. Fast stream Rehab that specialises in neurological rehab (e.g., multiple sclerosis, developmental disabilities, strokes, tumours, head injury, spasticity management), amputee Rehabilitation, Chronic pain and orthopaedic /musculoskeletal rehabilitation.


Eligibility

  • Completed a Certificate III in Individual Support/ Health Assistance
  • At least 1 year experience in an Acute Healthcare Setting or at least 2 years’ experience in a Subacute Healthcare Setting
  • Applicants must be able to commit to a 7-day rotating roster of AM, PM and ND shifts, applicants will be deemed not suitable if currently studying.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients, and their families
