Are you looking for an opportunity to utilise your health promotion skills in a unique and culturally diverse environment?

We have an exciting permanent position available in the Robinvale District Health Services team as a Health Promotion Officer working on the key focus areas of the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing plan and Community Health, Health Promotion plan. This position will be responsible for proactively developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion initiatives by working together with other professionals from the multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting the health needs of our rural community and possesses a range of innovative strategies to lead dedicated health promotion programs, in addition to working across a number of different settings

You will join an inclusive, fun and welcoming team based in Robinvale.

The successful applicant will work within the RDHS Primary Care and Community Services team, which includes Allied Health and Nursing staff, as well as our Early Years Programs. The position reports to the Director of Primary Care and Community Services.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion or an equivalent relevant qualificationDemonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs
  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills, problem solving skills and computer skills
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to conduct public presentations and facilitate groups)
  • Understanding of issues that impact on service delivery in relation to: social disadvantage, Indigenous community, LGBTIQA+ communities and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team and developing and maintaining partnerships, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Current driver's licence valid within Australia

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a rural health service
  • Sound knowledge of the public health system
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of Allied Health, Nursing and Early Years professions
  • Confidence in using social media platforms

In compliance with the Victorian Chief Health Officer's Mandatory Vaccination Directions, RDHS employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 with TGA approved vaccine and must have evidence of their vaccination status. Annual influenza vaccine is also mandatory and depending on your role, RDHS may require other vaccinations.
