About the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBS)
The IBC is constituted with the authority to assess, review and approve all dealings involving genetically modified organisms at Austin Health. This includes use in both animals and humans. The committee has been established within the guidelines prepared by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR).
About the role
As a member external to Austin Health, and any of our affiliated Medical Research Institutes and/or Universities, you will be responsible for helping to review applications that involve the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). You’ll contribute to discussions and attend IBC meetings, and bring an independent view to the IBC.
