Victoria Police have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Product Specialist (Mobile Technology) to work as part of a specialised team responsible for managing, maintaining and developing our key operational Mobile Technology platform. The incumbent will ensure the operation of Victoria Police's key operational Mobile Technology platform is kept at the highest possible standard in accordance with defined ICT frameworks and processes. 

This role will be working in a professional, highly dynamic and established team of ICT services professionals and will be regularly exposed to the various disciplines that Victoria Police operates in.

Your duties will include;

  • developing tools, techniques and processes to drive and improve the Mobile Technology service and platform;
  • responsibility for managing and ensuring the Mobile Technology service and platform runs reliably, effectively and efficiently;
  • provision of specialist technical authoritative advice supporting the management of product strategy, resolution of escalated issues and mitigation of risks, for the Mobile Technology platform and services;
  • management of Service providers in a multi-vendor environment to ensure required delivery and support;
  • overseeing the implementation of changes, additions and enhancements to the Mobile Technology platform;
  • ensuring data accuracy, completeness and auditing is maintained with efficient and effective methods to ensure that information is of the highest standard possible;
  • maintaining skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.

As the successful applicant, you will have;

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a multidisciplinary ICT role is highly desirable;
  • excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills together with demonstrated strong written communication skills;
  • demonstrated expert technical and functional knowledge of operational Mobile Technology platforms, their components and their integrations. This includes platforms supporting operational end user tablets, smartphones and cloud solutions;
  • demonstrated experience at a senior level in the preparation and provision of responsive, clear and concise specialist advice, recommendations and solutions both verbally and in writing through effective research, negotiation and consultation with stakeholders;
  • demonstrated experience and expertise in developing, maintaining and continuously improving ICT products and services in accordance with industry recognised frameworks, standards and systems within a large, highly complex environment;
  • ·proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department;
  • undergraduate degree in Technology, Business or Engineering disciplines;
  • training or experience in SAFE, ITIL or COBIT frameworks is highly desirable;
  • experience working in an agile and dynamic technology environment;

Requirements and relevant information:

  • This position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
