A new opportunity has arisen at BRHS for an experienced nurse to take on a new challenge in this diverse role.

STATUS: Ongoing, Part Time
HOURS: 64.0 hours per fortnight

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in infection prevention to take on this key role at BRHS. The preferred candidate will be passionate about infection prevention and education and have a strong multidisciplinary approach.

Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and advancement of the Infection Prevention Program at BRHS, ensuring all services provided by BRHS meet best practice standards. You will provide expert knowledge and advice with regard to the prevention of (and management of) diseases and complications caused by microorganisms.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented professional with:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Post graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or equivalent preferred
  • Recent experience in infection control
  • Nurse immuniser qualifications or willingness to work towards
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in infection control and surgical or peri-operative nursing
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, yet have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with teams across the health service
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including giving and receiving feedback.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the ACSQHC standard; Preventing and controlling Healthcare- Associated Infection standard.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability of being able to partnering with consumers to ensure consumers are involved in their care and have a great consumer experience
  • Competence in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
