INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY – Expression of Interest – Speaking up for Safety
It is with great excitement that we can advise MDHS with be partnering with other Loddon Mallee Health Services to participate in the “Speaking up for Safety (SUFS) “ program led by The Cognitive Institute.
The aim of this program is to:
Establish an organisation wide speaking up culture, the initial phase is to implement SUFS.
To establish and maintain a culture of safety and quality,
It is essential any team member has the ability to speak up whenever the culture of safety is under threat.
The Speaking up for Safety trainer programme (SUFS) embeds a culture of speaking up throughout the health service and building a culture of safety and reliability within healthcare organisations.
The Cognitive Institute believes that key success indicators for a safe organisation is where:
Staff love working in the organisation and would recommend the care for their family; and
An environment where staff are confident to speak up about any issue at any time.
A critical aspect of achieving safety for all patients is through:
Leadership commitment to promoting a culture of speaking up for safety
Skilling staff in a common language of speaking up at any time there is a safety concern
A culture where we check each other and welcome being checked
Developing and supporting all clinicians to reach the highest levels of professionalism
Improving accountability.
MDHS are looking for 1 staff that would be excited to attend the trainer program and be our “Speaking up for Safety” champions. This is open to all staff not just clinicians.
Please submit your Expression of Interest by the end of Sunday 22nd May 2022.
