TSV’s primary objective is to independently seek the highest transport safety standards that are reasonably practicable, consistent with the transport system's vision and objectives under the Transport Integration Act 2010 (Vic) (the Act). We do this by:   • Administering bus and maritime safety legislation
  • Licensing, registering and accrediting operators and other industry participants
  • Monitoring transport industries’ and participants' systems for managing safety risks
  • Monitoring compliance with transport safety legislation
  • Taking enforcement action as appropriate to promote safety outcomes in Victoria. We work within the transport system policy framework that applies to the whole of the transport portfolio under the Act.

About the Team

The Corporate Services Branch is a multi-faceted enabler that provides critical organisational expertise to facilitate the delivery of safer passenger transport and recreational boating for all Victorians.
It does this by contributing particular expertise on strategic planning, finance and budget, governance and assurance, information and communications technology, people and culture matters, business support, legal and policy matters, communications and stakeholder engagement and research and data analysis.

About the Opportunity

The IT Program Manager will lead the IT team in the management and delivery of TSV's Information Technology function by driving integration and improvement into end to end service management and delivery processes across multiple internal and external service providers to ensure alignment to TSV needs.

About You

  • ICT Specialisation: Demonstrated experience and success in coordinating and implementing a range of information technology services, diagnosing trends, obstacles and opportunities in the internal and external environment, understand the linkages between natural systems and communities to inform policy, and conceptualise and define the systems working within the organisation.
  • People management: Proven ability to build a high performing team, aligning teams' work priorities with organisational values and goals through effective people management, including ability to address performance at all levels and foster a cohesive and mutually supportive team with a healthy team culture aligned to that of the organisation and to VPS values, whilst modelling ethical leadership through decision making and interactions with team and others.
  • Planning and Organising: Ability to set clearly defined objectives and priorities and operate accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required, identifying processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal, establish systems and procedures to guide work and track progress, and recognise actual and potential barriers, finding effective ways to deal with them.
  • Conceptual and analytical ability: Demonstrated ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably, using analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems.
