The Department of Premier and Cabinet is looking for an experienced and highly motivated IT Service Operations Lead to join the Victorian Centre for Data Insights (VCDI).

The VCDI team has a whole-of-government role in leading the transformation of the VPS through data driven insights. It is helping to transform the way the Victorian Government uses data to inform policy making and service design on issues that are of whole-of-government significance.

As the IT Service Operations Lead, you will focus on the development and delivery of operational capabilities for VCDI data and analytics IT services providing government and public servants with information. 

This role requires a seasoned technical expert with a strong background in Technical Operations and Services to build the internal data capability and maintain the technical operations for our published applications.

You will use your highly developed leadership skills and strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to manage the delivery of VCDI IT service operations. Contributing to the overall vision to extend VCDI data and analytics IT solutions into an enduring platform that supports WoVG government initiatives.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have/be:

  • Experience managing the delivery of IT operational service, preferably employing an ITILv3 or ITILv4 based framework.
  • Experience with IT operations for data centric business systems supporting both analytics and business intelligence.
  • People focused leader with strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent service management experience
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
