Develop and maintain security systems and support for our units, assets and members.

WHO WE ARE:

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.  We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria, Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This role is within the Information Services team and reports directly to the Manager Information Security & Governance. 

Responsibilities include providing 1st to 3rd level user support and technical administration support for all technology assets that VICSES is responsible for.

Security support responsibilities involve advanced monitoring and administration of security issues for VICSES technology, physical, personnel and information assets.

Out-of-hours support on a rotating Information Services Duty Officer roster is mandatory along with travel across Victoria. This role may support operational staff during major or declared operations.

The position being offered is a VPS 4.1, Full Time, Ongoing position. VICSES are anticipating a reorganisation which could impact and change this position.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Complete installation, configuration, testing and documentation activities.

Administer and maintain security within a variety of systems, in line with the Information Security Management Program of Activities.

Provide administration to review security alerts, action them, provide notification and be instrumental in the recovery of security breaches.

Provide guidance, advice and reports on security related matters.

Provide content for training and awareness programs and related resource materials, participating and leading training and information sessions as appropriate.

Provide 2nd-3rd level technical administration and maintenance for networks, client, peripheral, telecommunications and ‘line of business' systems.

Keep up to date audit, maintenance and activity records.

Develop and maintain security related documentation, technical documentation, diagrams and instructions.

Provide after-hours support as part of the rotating Information Technology Duty Officer roster.
