An exciting opportunity exists for an IT Trainer on a fulltime fixed term basis in Corporate Delivery Services, Information and Technology Services team.

The Division is responsible for the efficient delivery of financial, people, information, legal, planning, procurement and technology services to DTF, which supports the Department to achieve its objectives and capacity to serve government.

It is also responsible for the management of whole of Victorian Government services provided to departments and agencies, including the development of policies and initiatives to achieve continuous improvement in facilities and real estate management, procurement and strategic sourcing.

Role Description

The IT Trainer is required to help manage a significant change to the way the state budget is delivered by the staff of the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF). DTF have commenced an upgrade of the existing on-prem Oracle finance system that will move the State Resource Information Management System (SRIMS) to the Oracle cloud.

The role requires an IT Trainer with excellent stakeholder relationship and communication skills, a contemporary understanding of blended training delivery within Information Technology, coordination skills, and strong attention to detail.

Key accountabilities 

  • Provide IT training for the implementation of the SRIMS upgrade.
  • Assess individual and group training needs for the introduction of the upgraded system.
  • Develop and implement training plans.
  • Design training materials such as videos, quick reference guides, user manuals and other supporting resources in alignment with the DTF style guide.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials in accordance with the training plan.
  • Work with the users, business SMEs and the project team to ensure education is successfully provided for both end users and more technical staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training and information sessions in accordance with Project Plan and Training Plan.
  • Collect feedback and record suggested improvements for future training delivery.
  • Provide updates to the project manager and project team on the status of training related activities.
