The Department of Justice and Community Safety delivers services to the Victorian community through eight Regions. Corporate Services is responsible for providing the region with a range of corporate support functions including human resources, finance, and procurement, planning and reporting, administration, and workforce development.
About the Role
The Justice Officer - Finance & Stores is part of the Regional Corporate Services team responsible for ensuring best-practice financial and procurement processes. This role is primarily based at Hopkins Correctional Centre.
Reporting to the Finance & Stores Team Leaders, the Justice Officer - Finance & Stores will process a range of financial and procurement transactions ensuring compliance with requirements and timelines. This role will ensure electronic and paper-based record keeping systems are up to date and accurate. This may include petty cash, banking, accounts payable and prisoner finance (SPEND), day-to-day operations of the prison stores functions including warehouse, procurement and administrative functions, prisoner shop, prison archive, prison vehicle fleet and state uniform store.
This position requires direct prisoner contact and supervision and may involve weekend and public holiday work, in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2020.

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic). Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.
At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
