About us

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security male prison facility focused on preparing prisoners for their transition back into the community.

About the role

Being an entry level position within the Human Resources Team, the Justice Officer - Payroll provides a range of human resource support services within the unique operational environment of a correctional facility.

The primary focuses are to perform the day-to-day preparation of rosters for the Prison Precinct. Other duties will include payroll functions, which includes high volume phone work and accurate data entry within achievable timeframes.

As requested, the position will provide statistical information on staff costing, sick leave, overtime and other relevant information and will also provide other related administrative support as required.

The Justice Officer - Payroll will be required to participate on a 14-day fortnight roster, which involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.

 About you

As our successful candidate, you will have/be:

  • demonstrated experience with an integrated personnel or payroll system and the ability to enter, modify and extract data accurately.
  • knowledge of the Victorian Public Service Agreement, and computer systems such as CHRIS21, OBA, TIME TARGET and TRIM would be highly regarded.
  • committed to service excellence.
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • ability to organise, plan and problem solve.
