About us

The Hopkins Correctional Centre (HCC) is a medium security prison, providing accommodation for sentenced and unsentenced prisoners with protection requirements. The HCC has a 762-bed capacity and is created as an open campus environment, combining community-style prison design with the Better Living Model, an innovative case management model for prisoner management.

About the role

The Justice Officer – Payroll will be focused on performing payroll duties for the Hopkins Correctional Centre (HCC), and the preparation of rosters, which includes high volume phone work and accurate data entry within achievable timeframes.

This role is responsible for:

• ensuring the prison is appropriately staffed to maintain operations
• process payroll and maintain registers and databases
• provide advice payroll functions as required.

This position involves a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision to VPS determination. 

About you

This role requires a strong focus on service excellence, stakeholder management and customer service.

As our successful candidate, you will have:

• Ability to interpret employee entitlements from sources such as Victorian Public Service Agreement, and Fair Work Act
• Demonstrated experience with an integrated personnel / payroll system and the ability to enter, modify and extract data accurately.
