We are seeking a highly motivated Lawyer to join our Gippsland regional office team.

About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Lawyer to join our Gippsland regional office team.

In this role, you will act as an advocate by providing legal advice and conducting casework in civil law matters including mental health, social security, debt, infringements and discrimination.

Appearing as a lawyer in the Mental Health Tribunal and Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) you will effectively represent and advocate for clients with civil and human rights issues. You will also engage with local partner agencies to promote and develop the Gippsland civil practice.

About you:
You have strong advocacy experience and sound knowledge of civil law procedures. You have a passion for advocating for clients in complex civil matters and the capacity to communicate effectively with clients who are socially and economically disadvantaged.

Crucial to your success in the role will be your stakeholder engagement skills which will positively engage with key partner agencies and/or their workers to appropriately manage referrals and to promote the service within community settings.
