Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Lawyer with an interest in criminal law and family violence matters to join our Dandenong team.

About the role:
Based in our busy Dandenong office this position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated and engaged lawyer to utilise their skills and experience in criminal Law and family violence matters. In this role you will take on a broad range of responsibilities including regularly appearing in various courts and tribunals, providing legal information and advice to clients in a number of settings, undertaking casework and providing duty lawyer services. A key focus of this role is high volume court work, presenting an excellent opportunity to further develop your advocacy skills.

In addition to this you will assist with the development of strategies to improve client services in the region, participate in community legal education projects and contribute to the implementation and review of the Westernport regional office plan.

Applicants will be considered for both immediate and upcoming vacancies over the next six months.

About you:
You have sound knowledge and/or experience in criminal law and family violence matters and are committed to employing your skills as a Lawyer to improve access to legal aid services in the Westernport region. You have excellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including clients who are experiencing economic and social disadvantage.

Your ability to work well under pressure and within a fast-paced team environment will be crucial to your success in this role and will see you quickly become a valuable member of the Dandenong team.
