About COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria

COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 accommodation response, including quarantine for returned overseas travellers and emergency accommodation for people unable to safely isolate in their homes.

About The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Emergency Management, you will be responsible for supporting the development and oversight of the emergency management framework for accommodation sites. The accommodation sites include Hotel Services, Frontline Worker Accommodation and Community Accommodation. You will initially be involved in the development of hotel emergency and evacuations plans and procedure, then once established, transition to focus on management and support.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development of emergency management policies and plans to ensure the safe and secure accommodation of community members undergoing mandatory quarantine
  • Support the successful implementation of the emergency management policies and plans cross accommodation sites
  • Provide support to the Assistant Manager, Emergency Management by contributing to reports, submissions and briefings on complex operational issues affecting the management of accommodation sites
  • Understand emergency management plans, procedure and control measures to ensure appropriate governance and risk management

You may be required to work flexible hours including weekends, public holidays and attend to urgent work as required (remunerated in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020).

This role is based in Tullamarine and Melbourne CBD locations with some travel required across the Melbourne Metropolitan area and Regional Victoria. Therefore, having a driver's license would be ideal in this role.

About You

Demonstrating a mature and professional approach to your work, it is anticipated you will offer:

  • Demonstrated experience in a dynamic environment and organises to work effectively, responding to changes, implementing responses, and providing analyses and suggesting improvements to support decision making
  • Experience in an emergency management environment is highly desirable
  • Strong communication capabilities including the confidence to engage across all level of the Victorian Public Service environment

You must be willing to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with two doses of an approved vaccine and remain compliant with IPC procedures in place (including wearing Personal Protective Equipment and participating in staff COVID-19 testing when required).
