Lead Engineer Road Design

  • VPS5: $102,637 - $124,183 per annum plus superannuation

About the opportunity    

 Developing and enhancing Road Design practices, providing expertise in Intersection Layout & Geometric Standards and supporting other areas within DoT to achieve optimum outcomes through the planning, development and delivery phases. The position is aimed at a person with extensive experience specialising in Intersection Layout & Geometric Standards.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Utilise expert knowledge of the principles of road design and road design practices to identify the beneficial opportunities and associate risks affiliated with the implementation of a nonconforming and or context sensitive design solutions.
  • Apply a sound, progressive understanding of road design philosophy and its relationship across a broad spectrum of disciplines to identify potential issues and formulate effective practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional independent judgement in being responsible for the development and delivery of complex technical solutions under limited supervision, with a strong emphasis on intersection layout and geometric design standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and build skills related to technical disciplines including road design and CADD software to achieve outcomes that support DoT accepted practices and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Experience relevant to the selection criteria outlined in this role statement.
  • Appropriate engineering qualifications apply

  • May Involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel
  • You may be required to undertake a medical and other safety compliance requirement
