About the Team

To deliver transport operations across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.

About the Opportunity

This role is required to provide expertise in road design, managing the region's extensive road design program to meet critical and competing deadlines for the development and delivery of road infrastructure improvement projects. Professional independent judgement to identify relevant road design issues particularly when working outside of normal guidelines and in the extended design domain. This position is aimed at a person with extensive expertise and experience in road design, particularly when working in the extended design domain. A demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal service providers and specialist external consultants.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional independent judgement in being responsible for the development and delivery of complex technical solutions for road design issues under limited supervision, with a strong emphasis on intersection layout and geometric design standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and build skills related to technical disciplines including road design and CADD software to achieve outcomes that support DoT accepted practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an extensive program of road design projects working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across a variety of road design related disciplines.
  • A sound, progressive understanding of road design philosophy and its relationship across a broad spectrum of disciplines to identify potential issues and formulate effective practical solutions.
  • Apply innovative and advanced problem-solving skills that encourage the adoption of developing technologies and practices including but not limited to CADD systems and road design methodologies to achieve a balance between multiple objectives.
