The Frontline Mobility team supports operational policing by providing the digital technology and applications – mobile devices, mobile apps, body worn cameras - that enable frontline police to perform their duties in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

The Lead Support Engineer will play a leading role within this team, ensuring that the system remains operational for our 24 / 7 workforce to access the information.

Your duties will include:

  • Support and patch application servers across windows and Linux platforms.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks and review logs for applications.
  • Support on premise servers.
  • Help design our new services we will build into our Azure environment.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in service delivery and support of high availability applications and services.
  • A passion for problem prevention rather than cure.
  • Strong ITIL process skills and ability to document designs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Education and professional experience in an IT or related discipline would be highly regarded.

 

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available.
  • The positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The incumbent of the position may be required to be on stand-by/recall outside the ordinary hours of duty. Allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
