Licensing of Victorian energy businesses is fundamental to supporting the commission effectively regulate energy licensee conduct.

The Licensing Exemptions Lead takes a lead role in the commission's work on licensing exemptions. This includes:

• Identifying areas of reform to delivery regulatory best practice and managing projects to address these needs.
• Initiating and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including communicating with the large number of Victorians affected by licensing exemptions, and ensuring the commission's external facing communications meet stakeholder needs.
• Managing the licensing exemptions register, including maintaining and improving systems and processes for receiving and registering applications to provide customers with important information about their energy provider.
• Managing the registration of persons in the licensing exemptions register, including assessing and approving applications for registration, and responding to complex enquiries.
