Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) is Victoria's safety regulator responsible for electricity, gas and pipeline safety. Our role is to ensure that Victorian gas and electricity industries are safe and meet community expectations. We are also responsible for licensing and registering electricians, and educating the community about energy safety. Our people come from a wide range of professions with diverse skills and experience driving the success of ESV.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Team Leader of Licensing, as the Licensing Officer you will be responsible for assessing, reviewing and processing all licence and registration applications and renewals. You will also provide excellence in provision of information and resolving customer enquiries.     

  • Maintain the Licensing Register.
  • Process registrations for the electrical industry as required, including new applications and renewals.
  • Assess and review applications and renewals.
  • Establish an effective relationships with contractors and licence holders.
  • Provide quality advice to the general public and industry with regard to licensing and registration requirements. 
  • Undertake the receipt of monies and undertake required reconciliation as required. 
  • Provide information to customers and other stakeholders on requirements and processes.
  • Perform general administration and reception related tasks in response to licensing related enquiries.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Similar work experience in a customer service and data processing role.
  • Demonstrated strong administrative skills.
  • Proven excellence in customer service with a solution-mind set.
  • Strong communication an interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Experience in administration of registration and licensing processes and databased would be highly regarded.
