About the facility 


Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre is a recently upgraded facility located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state of the art equipment. Wallace Lodge, located at the McKellar Centre, is a 108 bed, high level, aged care residential facility. We offer focused professional development with dedicated nursing educators on site, set within new state-of-the-art facilities.


About the role 


We are looking for an energetic Lifestyle Officer who ideally has experience working with residents who have dementia and/or mental health diagnosis. The ideal candidate is a kind person who is able to work in a challenging environment and provide person first care to our residents.  The successful applicant will work within a team of dedicated lifestyle officers and nurses who will provide support within a multidisciplinary team.


As the successful applicant you will;



  • Plan and implement a high quality activity program within the Residential Aged Care Service that reflects the current resident’s needs.

  • Provide activities in line with the approved activity plan

  • Liaise with the facility lifestyle team to develop future activity plans which reflect the current resident’s needs.

  • Complete and maintain all documentation as required.

  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, on time and in accordance with Barwon Health policies and procedures.
