What you'll do

Reporting to the Director, Audit Quality, you will:

  • Play a key role in the design and implementation of audit methodologies and quality control systems and technologies in our audit quality space
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to identify and drive continuous improvement in our external audit practice
  • Provide expert up to date technical advice to the audit staff to support the delivery of quality audits within relevant timeframes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans
  • Represent VAGO at external seminars and events related to your field

About you

You are a driven, pro-active leader who can demonstrate technical expertise of the most recent auditing standards. You also:

  • Possess practical experience in delivering complex audits, investigations, and inquiries.
  • Demonstrate high employing professional skepticism while reasoning through problems
  • Have a track record of practically presenting concepts and highly technical information in a manner that is readily understood
  • Have a strong aptitude for learning about new tools and techniques and actively seek out opportunities to improve your knowledge
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field, preferably at the post graduate level.
  • Hold full professional membership with CPA Australia, CAANZ or the IPA, as specified in the position description.
