About the role

The Manager, Capability and Organisational Development is responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of capability and organisational development initiatives to support VCAT's Strategic Plan, VCAT for the Future 2018-2022. 

The role provides specifically tailored information, advice and services to develop and enhance human capital capability, a culture of high performance and engagement, and the coordination and delivery of the Tribunal's professional development program for Members and employees.

This role is an integral member of the People and Culture team, providing strategic and administrative human resource advice and support to all VCAT employees, Members and Judges.

The role directly manages the Professional Development Adviser, who supports the delivery of a range of human resource matters relating to the employment lifecycle with an emphasis on Member and employee induction, and professional development activities and programs.

  • Good relationship building, collaboration, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated capability to design, develop, implement and evaluate innovative solutions to unique business situations
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the capacity to listen, motivate and empower to deliver on objectives.
