The Manager will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of Diverse Learners Hub (DLH) and Inclusion Outreach Coaching (IOC) Coordinators and ensuring DLH outreach is implemented in accordance with state-wide practice models and the best available evidence.

Manager, Diverse Learner Hub (SEVR)

An exciting opportunity exists to work as part of a team to establish the new Diverse Learners Hub (Hub) and manage a new team of inclusion outreach support staff. The Hub will equip the education workforce to meet the educational needs of students with learning difficulties, with a focus on neurodevelopmental differences such as dyslexia, autism, dyscalculia, and ADHD (‘diverse learners'). It will be a game changer for diverse learners, their families and school staff. 

The Manager will be responsible for: 

  • Providing day-to-day management of Hub regional staff, initially comprised of 4x Education Improvement Leaders - Diverse Learners (Leading Teacher classification; 2 with autism specialisation and 2 with learning difficulties specialisation), increasing to about 7 over time, as part of the Hub  
  • Providing day-to-day management of Inclusion Outreach Coaching Coordinators  
  • Promoting understanding of both the Diverse Learners Hub and the Inclusion Outreach Coaching initiative among Regions (Divisions and Areas). 

 For the DLH, the Manager will also be responsible for:  

  • Collaborating with Regional/Area staff to identify key roles and strategic opportunities for Education Improvement Leaders - Diverse Learners to support practice improvement and capability-building among Regional/Area staff and school leaders to facilitate whole-school inclusion, with a focus on diverse learners 
  • Collaborating with the central state-wide DLH team, to identify strategic opportunities to strengthen support for diverse learners at a regional and/or state-wide level 
  • Overseeing outreach is implemented with fidelity to the state-wide model, resources, and evidence 
  • Overseeing data collection and communication to the central DLH team to inform DLH monitoring and evaluation and continuous practice improvement 
  • Supporting Area and Regional staff to understand and promote the DLH and IOC 
  • Establishing and embedding a new team and ways of working with DLH central and relevant Area/Regional colleagues. 

The successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management, people management and analytical ability.

They will be adept at navigating complex working environments to achieve results. Knowledge of inclusive education, autism, learning difficulties and schools is desirable but not essential. The role requires travel within the Manager's allocated Region.
