Ensure our members have access to high quality and reliable technology to support their work and communities

SALARY INFORMATION:

WHO WE ARE:

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.  We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people.

This role is responsible and accountable for the effective operations of the VICSES entire (WAN) network platform systems and the information that cycles through them. The scope of responsibility extends to our cloud-based, mobile, radio, telecommunications and security platforms.

Leading a team of in-house staff, contractors, consultants and suppliers, the role must focus on technology services as a key enabler for providing secure access and use of all VICSES owned and co-shared systems, including network and communications platforms, as well as front-end business and information delivery systems and user devices.

Out-of-hours support on a rotating roster basis (average of one week per month) as the ICT Duty Officer is mandatory.

This role may provide support to operational staff during major or declared operations.

This role will require travel across Victoria to support our units and offices.
