About the Judicial College

The Judicial College of Victoria (the College) supports the Victorian judiciary to successfully meet the unique challenges of their roles through judicial education, research, and knowledge creation and dissemination.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, the Manager holds a senior role within the College's Judicial Information Services team.

In an exciting period of transformation and growth, the Manager plays a key role in reshaping the delivery of the College's legal research and information services. Working closely with the Director, they will manage the implementation of a legal content and digital publishing strategy which aligns with technological solutions and maximises the value, reach and accessibility of the College's intellectual property. This work has the potential to deliver lasting impact and enduring benefit for the judiciary and the broader legal profession.  

The Manager applies their expertise to the research, drafting and publication of the College's trusted library of legal resources. They work with new legislation, appellate decisions and existing resources to produce clear, succinct and accurate legal content suitable for judicial and other professional audiences.

Drawing on sophisticated editing and interpersonal skills, the Manager also oversees the preparation of legal and non-legal content by junior researchers for different audiences and channels.

About you

You have exceptional legal writing and editing skills, with a reputation for delivering high quality, plain language legal content. Your extensive experience in the legal environment has been garnered in a practice, policy, publishing and/or court setting.

You bring knowledge of online publishing and/or information management and have been searching for the perfect opportunity to apply those skills in an impactful way.

You have a broad knowledge and deep understanding of the challenges facing the Victorian judiciary and stay familiar with developments in the law and its context.

With an authentic interest in online publication, polished legal writing skills and a passion for the law, you are perfectly suited be the College's Manager, Legal Research & Information Services.
