About the role:

Manager – Major Incident & Problem Management is a Melbourne CBD based role within Service Integration and Management (SIAM) Process Excellence Team within the Digital Services and Security Department. In this role you will be responsible for the effective handling, management, coordination, and escalation of unplanned service interruptions, with the aim of restoring service as quickly as possible. This role is also responsible for coordinating the identification, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis of problems.

About the division:

The role sits within the Service Integration and Management team of Victoria Police's Information, Communication & Digital Technology (ICDT) Division. ICDT exists to deliver the Technology Products and Services that Victoria Police rely on all day, every day.

Role will include the following responsibilities:

This critical and highly impactful role within Victoria Police will focus on providing an exceptional and professional customer experience for all Victoria Police staff. 

As the manager Major Incident and Problem Management you will:

  • Lead, monitor, direct and drive the optimisation of Major Incident Management, Problem Management and Disaster Recovery capability
  • Coach, mentor & lead the dedicated team to run day to day operations
  • Establish integration of processes across multiple internal / external suppliers
  • Drive the pragmatic, focussed and timely uplift of service management process maturity
  • Analyse performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Uphold a strong sense of customer service and measure service performance
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to strategic direction of the Process Excellence team, overall SIAM function, and broader technology team

As the successful applicant, you will:

Have the ability to:

Have experience;

  • defining and improving process to optimise value and minimise inefficiency
  • working with vendors to deliver organisational outcomes
  • Hold an Information Technology, Business, or related degree
  • Have a good understanding of organisational management, strategy and governance.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available
  • VPSG6 salary range $125,893 - $168,473 p.a + super.
  • Position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre (VPC), 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • the incumbent of the position may be required to be on stand-by/recall outside the ordinary hours of duty. Allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
