The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. We also lead the Victorian Government's response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Working with our partners, we oversee Victoria's health system including mental health, ageing and aged care and preventive health. We are committed to developing and supporting a workforce that is well equipped and highly motivated to provide responsive and quality services to all Victorians. All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ and people from culturally diverse backgrounds and differences to realise the potential of our employees for innovation and delivering services.
Reporting to the Director, Sustaining and Enhancing Capital Programs this role is responsible for developing and overseeing delivery of sustaining and enhancing infrastructure projects as funded to health services and agencies across Victoria. The role will also coordinate asset management functions across the asset lifecycle to improve quality and efficiency of the health asset portfolio, assisting with direction and building effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.
The Victorian Health Building Authority (the Authority) is a recognised leader in the origination, planning and delivery of social infrastructure projects for Victoria; and is responsible for the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health and human services infrastructure program comprising $23 billion in managed assets and $6 billion of funded infrastructure committed and/or being delivered.
With this significant financial responsibility, the Authority has a keen focus on boosting efficiency and innovation in the planning, management and delivery of infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing population; whether it be public housing, so our most vulnerable Victorians have a safe and modern place to call home, or sophisticated health infrastructure and equipment to provide Victorians access to the highest quality healthcare.
The Authority's track record, recent implementation of both a best-practice Program Management Office and an integrated Communications unit, together with national recognition for our High Value High Risk / Public Private Partnership projects, establishes the Authority as a centre of infrastructure project management expertise.
