THE ROLE
The Office for Disability exists to promote the full inclusion of people with disability within the Victorian community and economy and oversees implementation and ongoing development of the State disability plan and Victorian Disability Advocacy Program. As Manager of the Office for Disability you would be responsible for whole of government policy and strategic leadership on disability issues. This is a key leadership role within the Inclusion Unit and guides teams responsible for: the development, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of the Victorian state disability plan; the implementation and review of programs to support the Victorian disability advocacy sector and initiatives to promote voice and leadership; Commonwealth/State relationships around the National Disability Strategy; and Secretariat and policy supports to intra and inter departmental committees on disability and the Victorian Disability Advisory Council. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  1. Maintain an understanding of issues impacting people with disability and investigate and lead critical projects that develop or refresh policies, professional standards and operating practices to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency and lead to better outcomes for service users.  
  2. Strategically design and develop the delivery of departmental objectives that impact significant localised service delivery and meet statewide departmental and government objectives and community expectations.
  3. Maintain an understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency and improved client outcomes.
