About the Team

This role is part of the programme delivery team and is responsible for leading the project delivery aspects of the Systems and Tools workstream, applying specialist project management skills to lead planning, procurement and delivery of a Situational Awareness platform to support a fundamentally new way of designing, specifying and operating a Situational Awareness system.

About the Opportunity

This role will lead and advise team members on project management practice and provide expert advice to management to monitor the quality and progress of the Systems and Tools workstream, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent progress monitoring and reporting.

About You

  • Lead and motivate the project delivery team to support a $240 million investment in transport network operations.
  • Develop and execute a process of defining a Capability Evaluation, Proof of Concept programme to assist DoT in becoming an informed purchaser of a Situational Awareness Platform, and to be able to subsequently decide and run a Situational Awareness system procurement
  • Programme manage the implementation, integration and acceptance of a Situational Awareness system with successful handover to operations stakeholders.
  • Apply innovative and specialist problem solving skills to achieve continuous improvement and proactively identify emerging issues and opportunities and respond to achieve outstanding outcomes in all project key result areas. Promote innovations to key internal and external stakeholders to help shape and create industry trends and to set standards and benchmarks in this field.
  • Manage harmonious, fair, reasonable and collaborative contract administration using interest-based negotiation techniques while demonstrating decisive leadership to resolve contractual issues. Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and be able to identify and pursue opportunities to leverage technologies and capabilities in the Intelligent Transport Systems arena to enhance project benefits.
