About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of the enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO), the Manager, Program and Project Management Excellence leads a Centre of Excellence responsible for delivery of quality excellence, and providing coaching and support to EPA staff in the adoption of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead and manage the Centre of Excellence ePMO team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity; manage the allocated resources, budgets, contribute to business, program, and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive culture and the development of staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the ePMO Head to support setting the direction of the ePMO, its strategic position and function within the organisation, to ultimately enable the delivery EPA’s Strategic Plan 2022-27 and Annual Delivery Plan
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the Senior Advisor Project Management to drive improved project management capability across EPA divisions
  • Set the standard for EPA best practice project and program delivery across programs and both tech and non-tech projects, ensuring EPA’s tools, templates and frameworks are aligned with best practice methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Prince2, Agile) are rolled out and adopted across the organisation
  • Lead the development and delivery of an EPA-wide capability uplift program to enhance program and project delivery acumen across the organisation, building core capability in program an project management to increase the value EPA brings in its role as Victoria’s Environmental Regulator

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience and a record of achievement in embedding program and project management practices across all levels of an organisation via an approach fit for the organisational context, preferably within Government.
  • Extensive understanding of Program and Project Management methodologies with demonstrated experience.
  • A proven record of achievement in a similar role. Government experience is desirable.
  • Proven ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive team, with a demonstrated commitment to uplifting the skillset and capabilities of others across diverse projects.
  • Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference.
