  • Location: Melbourne CBD The Quality Assurance Manager role would suit applicants looking for an opportunity to influence, lead change, educate, and strengthen customer experience, whilst working within a flexible and supportive culture.

Core activities of the role include managing a small team of Ministerial Services Advisers who perform a quality assurance function to monitor compliance with ministerial standards and departmental policies, while empowering drafting officers to refine their writing skills. Additional activities include supporting these continuous improvement aims including design and managing delivery of a ministerial writing training course, drafting of supporting reference documents, including a departmental writing guide, identification of significant briefings and correspondence, matters of importance, risks and trends, within and across briefings and correspondence and to share these insights with colleagues to support a strategic response where required

In this role you will lead a small team  who perform a quality assurance function to monitor compliance with ministerial standards and departmental policies, while empowering drafting officers to refine their writing skills. You will  need to have highly developed written skills, sound knowledge of government, and, experience in managing a team and building trusted relationships and desired outcomes.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated record of achievement in building and managing successful relationships with key stakeholders to provide pragmatic solutions to complex problems, within tight timeframes.
  • Sound knowledge of government, an understanding of ministerial and parliamentary processes and the role of the VPS in supporting government.
  • Highly developed written skills, with the ability to apply plain English principles to ensure consistent standards in ministerial and secretarial documents, including developing guides, reference material and other communication tools for departmental staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team, building trusted relationships and achieving desired outcomes.

This is a fixed term position available up until November 2022.
