The position of Manager, Strategic Resources Planning forms a part of the Resources branch within the Rural and Regional Victoria group.

The Resources Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum.

Reporting to the Director Extractives, the key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Plan, manage and coordinate a complex work program of strategic resource and land use planning projects, engagements and advice to progress the implementation of the Extractive Resources Strategy.
  • Provide effective leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Establish effective working relationships and collaborations with a range of stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
  • Lead and participate in negotiations on sensitive strategic resource and planning issues and provide advice.
  • Manage the delivery of projects on time and budget by applying sound project management practices.
  • Lead the development of planning related advice.
  • Apply and interpret qualitative and quantitative supply and demand analysis.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate capability and experience in strategic natural resource, land use or infrastructure planning as well as leadership and people management skills.  If you have proven project management skills and experience along with highly developed written and verbal communication skills, then this could be the position for you.
