Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).

Manager, Strategic Risk and Partnerships

Reporting to the Director Capability and Risk, the Manager, Strategic Risk and Partnerships is Primarily responsible for the development and overall management of policy, capability and doctrine for emergency risk management across Victoria.

Key accountabilities include:

• Collaborate with EMV's sector partners to provide strategic advice to ensure that municipal, regional and state emergency management plans are informed by risk.
• Drive risk management principles and practices throughout the sector to ensure they are considered and applied operationally through the preparedness, response, and recovery of phases of emergencies.
• Lead the Strategic Risk and Consequence function at the State Control Centre including building capability, training, rostering and the development of products to meet legislative and operational needs.
• Build capability and coordinate support for incident, regional and state-level consequence management.

To be successful you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in emergency or community risk management.
• Extensive experience in the managing and engaging with a wide-range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ‘hands on' expertise in managing complex programs of work through the full project management life cycle.
