The People, Safety & Risk division provides advice and support for legal, human resources, health & safety, statutory compliance, governance, information management, audit and risk functions for Parks Victoria. The focus of the People and Culture Branch (P&C) is to develop and support a flexible, sustainable and equitable workforce management model, which is underpinned by the provision of appropriate, consistent and timely human resources services, processes.

Working as a Business Partner for the organisation, the branch provides advice, information and support to managers and employees that enable Parks Victoria to meet and exceed its workforce needs, aspiration and organisational wide workforce plans.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Manager Talent and Strategy you will lead the recruitment function of Parks to implement the framework and guidance on workforce recruitment strategies (including staff mobility, transfers, secondments, internal advertising, external advertising), processes and procedures including the best practice recruitment methodology to develop, monitor and manage forms and guidance materials to Parks Victoria's legislative obligations. You will have overall responsibility for the end to end recruitment and onboarding process for all positions at Parks Victoria.

In this role you will also have overall responsibility for all of Parks Victoria's seasonal and bulk recruitment including Seasonal Rangers and Project Firefighters. This role has significant stakeholder management responsibilities with internal Parks Victoria employees and managers, external candidates and partners in the broader Victorian Government and IT vendors, in order to meet budget, timelines and maintain systems and processes. You will have responsibility for Parks Victoria's e-Recruitment and onboarding systems, the continual improvement and streamlining of systems and processes and the training of managers in meeting their responsibilities.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Extensive experience in development and delivery of effective contemporary recruitment strategies and bulk recruitment programs
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team as well as setting goals and performance measures
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment practices, governance and stakeholder management
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required
