The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the departments' digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the department including Victorian government schools. The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.
About the Role
As a Technology Manager, you've got some key responsibilities on your plate. Your top priority is making sure the department hits its goals, and your expertise is vital for shaping our plans. You're the go-to person for breaking down complex issues and explaining our options for decision-making, even when things get a bit tense. Having strong negotiation and interpersonal skills is a must, as you'll be handling some tough conversations. Plus, you're a leader, guiding the team with your know-how, driving intricate tech projects, and coming up with ideas that suit our department. Your unique skills in your field are what keeps us on the path to success.
The Technology Manager position sits within the Enterprise Platform Unit; a unit focusing on roadmaps, strategic planning and design associated with each of our enterprise platforms. The unit will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of platform design and drive the patterns and decision making for any new product development. They will provide platform expertise through the development process, including discovery, design, and delivery.
Working closely with the Salesforce Platform Architect, the Technology Manager is responsible for the overall management, governance, and strategic development of the platform.
This role involves overseeing the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of projects on Salesforce to meet the department's business needs and drive operational efficiency. The incumbent will govern individual products that sit on the platform ensuring that IMTD's design principles continue to be applied consistently.
